EPIC have been working hard to build support for a new festival of national significance. To show Scotland, and the World, that we are ready to start holding events again. We have been in regular communications with leading members of the event industry, healthcare professionals, and the Scottish Government, to develop a safe, considered and innovative plan of action.
We seek to produce a festival across Scotland to signify the lifting of social distancing (and its effective banning of large public gatherings), but also allow the public a chance to remember the hard work and selfless efforts of all emergency services and essential workers in Scotland. We are proposing a benefit concert alongside a supported initiative for communities to create their own simultaneous events in their homes, gardens, streets, community spaces etc. We will also use the opportunity for a national fundraising strategy for a number of charities who have been majorly affected by COVID-19.
Whilst the public experience is at the forefront of our planning we are placing equal importance on creating national opportunities for EPIC members and the Scottish Event Supply Chain whilst fostering a collaborative approach.
We, EPIC, are asking YOU, the Scottish Events Industry, for your support. We are collecting "signatures" from working members of our industry who believe that organising a national event, such as the #TogetherFestival, would not only be a positive impact to those attending, but it would help the industry to keep staff employed in jobs, that are currently at risk, if the events industry is kept on hold much longer.
Below you will find a form, please complete this with your information and we will add your "signature" to a letter that has already been received by the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Fair Work, and Culture; Ms. Fiona Hyslop.
Thank you for your continued support!
The Team at EPIC. x
